How strange it might seem today I was brought up with a very positive image of Israel, the image of a friend.

But what about the police itself? they accept anonymous calls without any evidence, and just go ahead to intimidate people? everybody has some enemies, and half of the enemies will be happy to set you up by tipping the police that you are serial murderer - if they know that (1) an action will be taken, and (2)they will get away with it. In Stalin times in USSR, people tipped KGB on their neighbors, and KGB promptly brought the neighbors to jail as enemies of state. In middle ages the same anonymous callers were tipping the Holy Church about the heretics and witches. It's human nature, and it was this way for ages, and will be. I think the rage should be not against the "anonymous caller" but against the authorities. You don't mention what did you say to the agents who came to intimidate you with zero evidence. Did you tell them to get the f@ck out, or did you allow them to search your home and convinced them that yo? are not a terrorist, so they forgave you until the next anonymous call?

So, they understand clearly that it was a politically motivated baseless accusation.

To the two detectives who talked to me - if you're reading the site - which you may or may not be, now that the investigation is "complete" - thanks, for being polite.

But, I urge you to consider questioning the propriety of accepting 'anonymous tips' about 'terrorism.'

I think you are quite naive to thank detectives for being polite with you. Their politeness is only one of their tactics they are trained on, and it only means that in your case, they thought these tactics would be more effective. Regardless of how they behaved, they came not to protect you, not to do you any good, not to do any justice (which would not be in their competence anyways), they only came to see if they could gather enough evidence to have you arrested. And you yourself confirm that their decision to be polite was effective - soon you "wanted to talk to them", which is exactly what they needed. Had you decided to use your right to remain silent, their politeness most likely would turn around very quickly - they would just apply other tactics. Remember, it's never to your advantage to talk to the police, since any information they obtain from you can and will be used only against you. I'm sure everyone is very familiar with this clause, but not everyone realizes that "only". The best tactics with any authorities is giving your name and address, and nothing else. See
